December Daily 2019 Days 17 Thru 20 Ft. Felicity Jane & Ali Edwards
Hello friends and welcome back to my December Daily 2019 project. I am participating in the #donebydecember campaign put on by the Ali Edwards creative team, in which we are finishing up previous December albums before the month of December begins. I had quite a few inserts at this point in my album! These are so much fun and help bring variety and interest to the album. I am hoping to continue this in my album for 2020 – I am actually loving getting the chance to revisit last year’s album before this year’s album begins so that I can take notes for this year!
Day 17 is this very simple half circle from Felicity Jane. I decided to use a photo of myself on the back, so I printed it a bit larger than the half circle and then trimmed it out around the insert. Selecting my number seemed to be the hardest part! Ha! But I ended up going with the gold number 17 from Felicity Jane, which is perfect. I also added my journaling around the outside of the circle. My story was just a bit of reflection about my growth throughout the year. There were so many good things up ahead and I was excited to be able to enjoy them!
Day 18 is a transparency pocket from Ali Edwards. Natalie had a chorus concert that night, so I slid my program and a photo into the pocket. To notate the date, I used a date element from Sahlin Studio, which is December Days No. 02 from The Lilypad. If you have never used the Sahlin Studio numbers before, you have to try them! Every year Krista releases the most amazing sets of numbers. I always grab them, print and cut them with my Silhouette, and then have them on hand for future years as well. At the bottom of my pocket I added a tag from Felicity Jane, with a simple word strip also from Felicity Jane. I tied a simple red and white twin at the top of the tag as well, for a pop of red.
When you turn the pocket you will find Day 19. Our story for that day was a lunch date at our favorite place, The Loop, and a bit of Christmas shopping. The cool element on this page is the trees at the bottom. They were from Felicity Jane and so I adhered those to a bit of 3×4 transparency, two on one side and the third on the back side. Where the trees overlap is where the adhesive is hidden. I then dropped sequins into the pocket and sealed my pocket so everything will stay put. This is inspired by Ali Edwards’ tree pocket but re-imagined a bit using those cool trees from FJ. I let the green and grey colors set the mood for this page and carried those colors through the journal cards. Those are both from Ali Edwards.
Day 20 was more from our day in Atlanta – we purchased a spinner at the festival and I placed it on the dining room table for us to enjoy during the season. I really loved having it there so we could watch it. What happens is that you light the candle and the energy from the candle spins the little vignette. We found that this little gem brought out conversations about Christmases past, Christmases from my childhood, and allowed me to share more of my German history with our children. I love that so much! The journal cards again are from Ali Edwards, and the circle number is a very old one from Jillibean Soup.
